S-Game has dropped an extended look at gameplay from its upcoming Kungfupunk action game, Phantom Blade Zero, featuring more high-octane sword clashes, alongside a first look at the studio’s collaboration with martial arts legend Donnie Yen.
The 11-minute extended gameplay trailer kicks off with a high-speed horse cart chase sequence featuring the game’s protagonist, Soul, as he fends off enemies on horseback. The newest trailer shows off more of the title’s satisfying parry system and fluid Wuxia action as Soul seamlessly transitions from defence to offence.
Soul is then faced with a boss encounter against The Hunt, Hunter of the Order, a hooded figure who wields dual scythes, with the intense fight also occurring entirely while they are on the back of the horse cart, which looks to test a player’s reaction time while faced with limited manoeuvrability. The trailer then cuts to numerous scenes showcasing Phantom Blade Zero’s narrative and the many other bosses Soul will face.
To close off the trailer, Yen then makes an appearance as Mó Yuan, Soul’s father, who also seems to be one of the game’s major antagonists. S-Game has collaborated with Ip Man actor and action film director since 2023, and he will not only lend his likeness to the game, but also serve as its Creative Consultant to deliver an authentic kung fu experience by drawing from his extensive martial arts and action filmmaking experience.
Phantom Blade Zero will see Soul, an elite assassin in the service of an elusive and powerful organisation known as The Order, undergo a mission to unravel the conspiracy behind the murder of The Order’s patriarch. Despite how it may appear, the game isn’t a soulslike, but instead more of an action-adventure title like Devil May Cry, with the title featuring extensive accessibility options and multiple difficulty modes to choose from.
Pre-orders for Phantom Blade Zero are now open, with the game launching on 29 October 2026 for the PS5 and PC.
