Popular streamer IShowSpeed has already dipped his toes into event hosting, soccer matches, and even wrestling, but now, the internet icon is becoming an animated character, as an anime-style series based on his likeness is in the works, helmed by Matt Owens, co-showrunner of Netflix’s live-action One Piece.

As reported by Variety, IShowSpeed, whose real name is Darren Jason Watkins Jr., will bring his chaotic personality and voice to the upcoming animated project, which will be produced by Former Paramount co-CEO Brian Robbins‘ Big Shot Pictures production start-up. While no plot details have been revealed for now, this also marks one of the streamer’s first narrative-driven projects, with Big Shot Pictures taking the package to the market in the coming months.
Often regarded as one of the most popular online streamers and Internet personalities in the world, Speed rose to prominence online in 2021, made famous for his viral globe-trotting livestreams and various videos spanning gaming, sports, and anime. Known for his chaotic energy while streaming, the 21-year-old has also clinched numerous awards over the years, including Streamer of the Year at both the 2024 and 2025 iterations of the Streamer Awards.
“I’ve always loved anime, so being able to create something like this is a dream come true for me,” IShowSpeed said in a statement. “The team behind this project is incredibly talented, and I can’t wait for my fans around the world to see what we’re building together.”

“Speed is a one-of-a-kind creative force whose ability to connect with audiences transcends borders and platforms,” added Robbins. “As a performer, he’s built a truly global fanbase, and we’re excited to help bring his voice and vision to life in a completely new way through this series.”
Additionally, filmmaker Harmony Korine, known for his experimental projects like 2023’s Aggro Dr1ft and 2024’s Baby Invasion, is also attached to the project as a producer, which should further add to the chaotic and unpredictable nature of an anime series worthy of bringing someone like IShowSpeed into the animated world.
