‘A Quiet Place Part III’ Sets Emily Blunt And Cillian Murphy Return, Expands Cast With Jack O’Connell & More

Emily Blunt and Cillian Murphy are no strangers to the dread that comes with disrupting the silence, and it won’t be long before that happens again. The pair will reprise their roles for A Quiet Place Part III, joining fellow returning stars Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe, as well as several new faces.

Taking to Instagram, director and writer John Krasinski announced that Sinners villain Jack O’Connell, Jason Clarke (House of Dynamite), and Love Lies Bleeding breakout Katy O’Brian have been cast in undisclosed roles.

“So proud to be a part of this A Quiet Place Family…old and new! Here we go!” reads the filmmaker’s caption, which includes the updated release date of 30 July 2027.

While story details remain under wraps, it’s safe to assume that A Quiet Place Part III will once again centre on humans navigating a world haunted by sound-sensitive, nightmarish alien creatures, while staying as silent as possible to survive. However, with a nine-year gap between this third film and the first, there’s a chance that the plot won’t pick right up after the events of 2020’s sequel, as the returning cast is now a lot older.

As previously reported, Krasinski is also attached as producer with Allyson Seeger via their Sunday Night banner, alongside Platinum Dunes’ Michael Bay, Brad Fuller, and Andrew Form. Production is set to begin this spring.

The Quiet Place

Released in 2018, A Quiet Place starred Blunt and Krasinski as a mother and father, respectively, who struggle survive and raise their children (Simmonds and Jupe) in the creature-infested post-apocalyptic world. It grossed over US$341 million worldwide and landed a sequel in 2021, after several delays due to various reasons. A Quiet Place: Day One serves as a prequel to the two films, following a terminally ill woman (Lupita Nyong’o) during the early stages of an invasion in New York City.

A Quiet Place Part III creeps into theatres on 30 July 2027.
