CES 2021: Dell’s Ultrasharp 40 Becomes The First 40-Inch Ultrawide Curved 5K2K Monitor

Too much of a good thing isn’t necessarily a boon, as seen in the case of some absurdly-wide gaming displays. Announced at the annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the Dell Ultrasharp 40 Curved WUHD Display (U4021QW) comes as a refreshing upgrade for users, with its 5,210 x 2,160 resolution designed for both productivity and content creation, as well as full 4K playback.

The monitor is described by Dell to offer “wide colour coverage and excellent colour performance,” alongside 90W power charging over Thunderbolt 3, as well as fast data transfers with super speed USB 10Gbps and ethernet connection via RJ45. Users will be able to adjust its height, tilt, and swivel, and store wires in its cable management slot for a neater workspace.

The Ultrasharp 40 is set to launch on 28 January 2021 for US$2,100. Those seeking a slightly smaller display can opt for the Ultrasharp 38 instead, which ships with a WQHD+ display (2,960 x 1,440 px), integrated 9W speakers, and easy port connection. That will arrive on the same day as well, but at a different retail price of US$1,499.99.
