This year, McDonald’s Singapore did many fans a favour by re-releasing the beloved Spicy Chicken McNuggets last January, as well as the seasonal Prosperity Burger and Curly Fries for Chinese New Year earlier this month.
This time, however, the iconic fast food joint will be releasing an all-new item, the Donut Sticks, as part of its breakfast menu starting this Thursday, 27 February 2020.
Billed as “crispy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside”, these Donut Sticks, to the average Singaporean, are simply a bunch of sugar-coated youtiao (Chinese fried dough fritters), or churros for the rest of the world. Now that McDonald’s has gone there, one could even imagine the company to have gone so far as to call it Asian Croissant, or something more eyebrow-raising.
But we digress. The Donut Sticks can be bought a la carte from S$2.20, or as a set with McCafé Premium Roast Coffee from S$3. Just note that it will only be available during breakfast hours at McDonald’s restaurants, McCafé via McDelivery and GrabFood, while stocks last.

Marion has a serious RPG addiction. Sometimes it bleeds into real life; he forgets to sleep because he thinks he has a Witcher’s body clock. Forgive him in advance if he suddenly blurts out terms such as “Mind Flayer” and “Magic Missile”, because never once does he stop thinking about his next Dungeons & Dragons game.
