Ahead of its release on 17 April 2026, excitement for Capcom’s unique hacker-shooter Pragmata is already at an all-time high, with over two million players downloading its Pragmata Sketchbook demo and wishlisting the game.

The roughly 20-minute demo, which is now available across the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC via Steam, offers players a snippet of the game’s hacking-based combat system that “engages both sides of your brain”, allowing them to explore a curated section of its setting, a lunar research station.
Dropped in the middle of the story, players play as both Hugh and his android companion, Diana, as they navigate an abandoned station now filled with robot foes controlled by an evil AI. The twist here is that all enemies are protected by near-inpenetrable armour, meaning players will have to rely on Diana’s hacking skills to solve grid-based puzzles in real-time during combat, using the right stick (on a gamepad) to solve the puzzle while simultaneously avoiding the attacks of foes.
This unique mix of real-time puzzle solving and combat might also prove to be divisive, so having a demo that offers a balanced range of combat encounters, platforming, and puzzle solving serves well to help potential players figure out whether Pragmata’s blend of systems is to their liking. And for two million players, this was exactly the case.

“Hugh, look, I can’t believe millions of people are excited for our game,” reads a celebratory post on Pragmata’s official social media page, adding that apart from impressive demo downloads, the title has also secured two million wishlists across its release platforms, meaning most who tried it really vibed with its unique premise and systems.
Fans won’t even have to wait that much longer, too, as Capcom has recently revealed during a Spotlight presentation that it’s shifting Pragmata’s release a week early, and that it will now launch on 17 April 2026.
