Zack Snyder’s Animated ‘Twilight of the Gods’ Film Gets Release Window And First Still

Zack Snyder is everywhere these days, and the director intends to make his foray into animation with Twilight of the Gods, a new animated film centering around Norse mythology. The Netflix film’s voice cast was previously announced, and in a new update, the film is set to arrive on the streaming platform this fall, along with releasing a first still.

Synder currently has big plans for his other projects, like Rebel Moon, which has six movies potentially planned, as well as working on Army of the Dead franchise.

Familiar Norse mythology figures will make an appearance in the series, but no further plot details were revealed. The film’s voice cast includes John Noble (Fringe) as Odin, Paterson Joseph (Wonka) as Loki, and Pilou Asbæk (Game of Thrones) as Thor, among other members of the ensemble cast.

The new still revealed a woman standing in a forest holding a staff, along with markings that adorn her features, wearing a fur coat. While there’s not much to go by, Snyder did post an accompanying caption with the tagline, “We fear no Gods!”

Twilight of the Gods could be a surprise hit, from the promising animation style, but the jury’s still out until the film premieres this fall.
