Rejoice! Another adorable themed cafe is heading our way!
Snoopy, along with his best pal Woodstock will be making their way to the Japanese-French inspired cafe Kumoya from 13 June to September 2019. This will be the first-of-its-kind, Snoopy-centric pop-up cafe in Singapore.
Families can bring their kids down to the cafe and dine on the Snoopy-themed menu curated by both the Kumoya kitchen team, and famed Instagram food artist, Shirley Wong (@littlemissbento), with main dishes like the Snoopy Sizzling Seafood Tempura with Japanese Curry Rice. There will also be many photo opportunities in the cafe, which is designed to the style of Peanuts’ comic strips.
Created by Charles M. Schulz, Snoopy first made his debut in 1950. With his aloof and unflappable personality, it did not take long for the beagle to become one of the most recognised and iconic characters in the Peanuts comic strip. Some might say he is more popular than his owner Charlie Brown in some countries.
Not content to just sit around and do nothing, Snoopy can often be found going on adventures. Be it as the World War 1 Flying Ace, or as an astronaut travelling to space. He can also often be found lying atop his doghouse, pondering the meaning of life and writing the next great American novel.
Kumoya derives its name from the Japanese characters “kumo” which means cloud, and “ya” which means a house or shop. Hence, the name Kumoya refers to a light, cloud-like shop. Over the years, Kumoya has collaborated with various brands to open up themed pop-up cafes. They have worked with brands like tokidoki, My Little Pony, and Pusheen.
