At the end of the yellow brick road lies the Emerald City, but that isn’t stopping the cast of Wicked: For Good from making a stop in Singapore. Following rumours of a star tour for the highly anticipated sequel, Universal Pictures and UIP Singapore has announced that Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo, Michelle Yeoh, Jeff Goldblum, and director Jon M. Chu will be in town on 13 November for the Asia Pacific leg of a World Tour that starts from Sao Paulo on 4 November, followed by Paris on 7 November, then London on 10 November, before ending in New York on 17 November, where the movie premiere is scheduled to take place.

The cast will walk into the heart of Oz at Universal Studios Singapore (USS) and Resorts World Sentosa (RWS), with the evening culminating in a screening at the Pantages Hollywood Theatre after a handprint ceremony. An exclusive fan event will take place at WEAVE, RWS’ lifestyle and community space, as a prelude to the premiere.
Guests at USS can also look forward to catching the stars walk the yellow carpet. The Universal Studios Singapore Premiere Day Special for 13 November is available in limited quantity from S$93 per adult and S$72 per child, and comes with food & beverage and retail vouchers.
Picking up after the final scene in the first movie, where Erivo’s Elphaba flies through the sky while singing the iconic “Defying Gravity”, Wicked: For Good will cover the events in the musical’s second act, as she and Glinda “embrace their new respective identities as the Wicked Witch of the West and Grande’s Glinda the Good Witch of the North”, and face the consequences of their previous decisions.
Alongside Grande and Erivo, Bailey, Goldblum, and Yeoh are all set to reprise their roles as Fiyero Tigelaar, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, and Madame Morrible, respectively, in the sequel. Other returning faces include Ethan Slater as Boq Woodsman and Marissa Bode as Nessarose Thropp.
As teased in the full trailer, which collected 113 million views in 24 hours, it will also set the stage for the arrival of Dorothy and her companions — The Tin Man, The Scarecrow, and The Cowardly Lion — and feature two original songs, “No Place Like Home” and “The Girl in the Bubble”, with the former written in collaboration with Erivo.
Wicked: For Good opens in Singapore theatres on 20 November.
