‘Wednesday’ Is Now Netflix’s Second Most Watched Show Of All-Time

Wednesday has graduated at the top of her class…well, sort of. The Netflix spin-off starring the popular Addams Family character has surpassed Dahmer to become the streamer’s second most-watched show of all time.

As per Variety, the series from renowned director Tim Burton has been viewed for over one billion hours within one month, which is quite the impressive feat. The makes Wednesday the third title to do so, following in the footsteps of Squid Game and Stranger Things Season 4.

Stranger Things still tops the rankings with 1.352 billion hours watched in its first 28 days, which makes it unlikely for Wednesday to catch up with 1.02 billion hours. Considering how it racked up 269.7 million hours viewed during the 5 to 11 December viewing window, it’s to hit 352.1 million hours within the remaining time frame.

It should be noted, though, that the fourth season of Stranger Things has a longer runtime — the show runs for approximately 13 hours, while Wednesday clocks around 6.8 hours. The length means the former has a significant leg up when comparing viewing hours alone.

Wednesday sees the young Addams teenage heading off to Nevermore, a school for outcasts where there’s more than meets the eye. It stars Jenny Ortega as the titular character, with a synopsis that reads, “While attending Nevermore Academy, Wednesday Addams attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a killing spree and solve the mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago.”
