Even since Marvel and NetEase launched Marvel Super War in 2019, we’ve been wondering when DC will follow suit to create their own mobile gaming universe. Well, DC Battle Arena is that contender, and we’re concerned.
Compared to its rivals, the offerings might fall a bit short.
Developed by Electronic Soul BBQ Studio in partnership with DC, the new mobile multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game is built towards a battle royale system similar to that of Brawl Stars instead of the traditional 5v5 tower-based battles in Mobile Legends or Marvel Super War.
Featuring a relatively small roster of unlockable DC superheroes and villains such as Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Catwoman, Harley Quinn, and Green Lantern, the game will pit players in their own unique multiplayer 1v1, 2v2v2, 3v3v3 brawls modes.
Compared to how Netease is making the best of their use of the Marvel license to good effect, DC Battle Arena doesn’t really seem to help further DC’s cause any further.
Did someone inside WarnerMedia just cash out on the DC Comics IP and call it a day?
DC Battle Arena is available now on Google Play Store.
