With HBO Max’s Harry Potter TV series set to arrive somewhere in 2026, the question on everyone’s minds is whether former Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe will make a cameo in the series as the titular character, and the actor has ruled out that possibility.
“I think they very wisely want to [have] a clean break. And I don’t know if it would work to have us do anything in it,” said Radcliffe in an interview with E!Online on a potential cameo in the series. The TV series has a legacy to live up to, and keeping the film and series separate would give the show its own moment in the spotlight.
The new Harry Potter series will be a hard reboot of the franchise, and based on J.K. Rowling’s wizarding books, which would adapt each of the series’ novels into a season of television, and Warner Bros. has assured fans it would be a ‘faithful adaptation’.
The actor remained cryptic about the possibility of returning if the series did ask him to, only saying that “I’m going to be a politician about this and not deal in hypotheticals.” Now the question is, who will be cast as the next Harry Potter in the TV series? We’ll just have to wait and see.
