Vin Diesel is, for the lack of a better term, a badass. Having carved his name onto the annals of Hollywood history with the likes of Fast & Furious, xXx and The Chronicles of Riddick, Diesel is revered by many as one of the modern greats in the action genre.
A Vin Diesel action figure would certainly an awesome new addition to any avid moviegoer’s collection. But then McFarlane Toys comes along and presents us with this:
What’s that, you ask? Well, it’s the new action figure of Bloodshot, the cybernetically-enhanced main character for the upcoming movie of the same name. The live-action adaptation of the Valiant Comics series will star Diesel as the titular character, who actually sounds like a bona fide badass.
Bloodshot’s skillset includes shape-shifting, enhanced physical attributes, a regenerative healing factor, and the ability to emit psychic pulses and commune with technology, all thanks to nanites that have been injected into his body. Sounds like a certain other badass, gun-toting cyborg from the future.
Regardless, while we’ve no qualms that Diesel will probably kill it as Bloodshot, we can’t help but question just how… bland his action figure looks. Never mind the 22 points of articulation, swappable hands and equipment for oodles of poseability and photo opportunities, his face just makes it a little hard to take him seriously.
Regardless if you want to catch more Vin Diesel in cybernetic action, Bloodshot will hit theatres on February 21, 2020.

Forgive him in advance if he suddenly blurts out terms such as “Mind Flayer” and “Magic Missile”, because never once does he stop thinking about his next Dungeons & Dragons game.
