Paradox Interactive’s long-in-development bloodsucking RPG Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 has been hit with yet another setback, with the game now delayed until October of this year.
News of the delay comes from a game update video uploaded by Paradox Interactive’s World of Darkness YouTube channel, which featured the appearance of the game’s Executive Producer, Marco Behrmann, speaking on its state of development alongside brief snippets of gameplay.
In his update, Behrmann describes how the team has added “more content, narrative depth, character development and evolved Fabien’s (the game’s main protagonist) role in the storyline”, adding that “the status of the game right now is that [it] is done”, and that the team is “currently focusing on bug fixing, stability, and performance so that [they] deliver the best experience” upon the games release in October.
Despite the delay, the update still comes as good news for fans, considering the reveal that the game has finally been completed, although a post on its official social media channels does state that the title would not be receiving any more developer diaries – video updates previously posted to keep fans in the loop on the game’s development – to allow for the team to “focus on elevating the game”.

Still, fans can take comfort in the fact that the game is finally reaching the end of its long and arduous development journey. Originally revealed back in 2019 with a projected 2020 release date, Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 received its first delay in late 2019, pushing it back to late 2020. A second delay to 2021 followed in August 2020, with yet another delay in March 2021 hitting hard for previous developer Hardsuit Labs, leading to studio layoffs and culminating in the announcement that Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs developer The Chinese Room would take over development in 2023, with its release date then slated for Fall 2024.
After six long years of waiting, it seems that the sequel to the 2004 cult-classic vampire RPG might finally see the light of day, with Paradox Interactive and The Chinese Room appearing confident about its release in October 2025 when it “meets the technical quality standards that [fans] rightfully expect and deserve”.
