Usher In The Lunar New Year With LEGO Singapore This January

Chinese New Year is right around the corner and what better way is there to usher in the new Lunar New Year than with two new festive Chinese New Year LEGO sets, the LEGO Lion Dance 80104 set and the LEGO Chinese New Year Temple Fair 80105 set.

For those who have always been fans of lion dances, now you can bring one (in LEGO form) right into your home. The new LEGO Lion Dance set recreates a well-loved tradition that occurs mostly during the Chinese New Year and is sure to bring back fond memories of lion dances among fans of all ages.

The set will feature 5 lion figurines, a percussionist stage with a real-life drumming function, an ornate temple gate to provide a nice background for the lion dancers, as well as a number of other items commonly seen during a lion dance performance. The set retails for S$119.90.

LEGO will also be releasing their new Chinese New Year Temple Fair set which recreates a bustling market celebrating the Lunar New Year, complete with stalls displaying their vast array of colourful items to sell and 14 minifigures for fans to play around with. The set retails for S$179.90.

In addition to the release of the two new Chinese New Year LEGO sets, LEGO will also be bringing their bricks to life in their first-ever large scale LEGO Chinese New Year event at Jem, happening from January 3 to February 9, 2020.

There will be a number of fun activities for fans of LEGO to participate in, including the LEGO Rat Building Competition where you can team up with friends and family to race against time to finish building a LEGO rat and stand to walk home with prizes worth up to more than S$200.

Fans will also be able to receive a “Give the Gift of Play” lucky draw card with every minimum purchase of S$88. Simply make a wish on any LEGO set with the lucky draw card and LEGO will help randomly fulfill five of these wishes by the end of the event.

Kids attending the event can also look forward to seeing LEGO NINJAGO Kai at the LEGO Chinese New Year event. He will be making appearances on both Saturday and Sunday to collect your brick-filled red packets for him.

All these activities and many more are why LEGO fans should definitely not miss LEGO’s Chinese New Year Event at Jem. Furthermore, there will also be exclusive event promotions for fans to enjoy at the event.

From January 3 – 5, shoppers can purchase the exclusive Chinese New Year Bundle for only S$299. The set will consist of both the new Chinese New Year sets, a limited edition LEGO Traditional Drum, and a LEGO Candy Box.

Those who purchase over S$98 at the event (excluding the new Chinese New Year sets) can get to choose between the LEGO Traditional Drum or the LEGO Candy Box as a gift with purchase. Shoppers who spend more than S$88 on LEGO sets anywhere across Singapore will stand to receive a limited edition LEGO Year of the Rat set as a gift with purchase.

Additionally, shoppers who spend S$238 or more on any products (not just LEGO) will be able to show a total of three combined receipts to redeem a limited edition LEGO Peach Flower Pot gift set, to be picked up from the mall concierge.

LEGO’s Chinese New Year event is currently taking place on the level 1 atrium of Jem and is happening from now till February 9, 2020, with activities taking place from 11am till 9pm each day.
