UNIQLO’s AIRism Mask Gets A Lighter And More Breathable Upgrade

With the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, wearing a mask has become the new norm for most of the world (with certain exceptions). As such, various companies such as Under Armour and even Razer have started manufacturing their own masks. Following the vein is Japanese fashion giant UNIQLO with their AIRism mask.

However, the feedback to the V1 of the mask was lukewarm and best. Many did not enjoy how stuffy it felt, especially under the sweltering summer heat. Some even attributed wearing the mask to having four shirts wrapped around their faces (via SoraNews24).

UNIQLO has listened to the feedback and decided to come up with V2 of their AIRism mask. Aside from the obvious differences in the packaging, the mask is also made up of different materials that make it feel lighter and more breathable.

The V1 mask was made of 75% polyester, 13% polyurethane, and 12% cupro fabric, while its inner lining consisted of 59% nylon, 31 % cupro fabric, and 10% polyurethane. In comparison, V2 comprises of 90% nylon and 10% polyurethane, with threading made from a blend of 75% polyester, 13% polyurethane, and 12% cupro fabric.

For those who are looking to purchase the UNIQLO AIRism mask, we suggest that you wait it out a little longer for the new version to be released.
