Unboxing The ‘Code Vein II’ Collector’s Edition!

In a world of opposites, Code Vein II looks to reconcile the differences – or explore them in some capacity, at least. Billed as the spiritual successor, rather than a direct sequel, to Bandai Namco’s 2016 action role-playing game, it features a post-apocalyptic world where humans and Revenants, the undead beings with vampiric abilities and strength introduced in the original, co-exist, as players travel through both the past and the present.

The premise marks a departure from before, but its heart still pulses to familiar beats, starting with the enhanced Buddy system that allows an ally to be summoned and now, become one with players, in the midst of a battle. It’s only apt, then, that the Code Vein II Collector’s Edition spotlights one of the companions as its centrepiece: Lou MagMell, the Revenant girl who revived the protagonist by giving him her own heart, binding them by blood.
