While it will still be a ways to go before Ubisoft’s upcoming open-world action-adventure game, Gods & Monsters, is launched, it appears that the new IP will be getting a rebranding of sorts.
While the name change seems rather radical at first, it does seem a little apt, given the name of the playable protagonist is Fenyx. As the title suggests, the game will still involve aspects of Ancient Greek mythology, more particularly its iconic and colourful pantheon of gods including the likes of Zeus, Hades, and Poseidon.
Despite the name change, it is unlikely that the game itself will be changed, at least that’s not the impression we’re getting. It is still being developed by the same team behind Assassin’s Creed Odyssey anyway, so those who are familiar with that best-selling title from 2019 will be able to draw some parallels to the new title.
Ubisoft has yet to confirm this potential name change.
In any case, Gods & Monsters or Immortals: Fenyx Rising is slated to release on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, PC, and Google Stadia.
