Travis Scott Teases PS5 Nike Dunk Sneakers In New Creative Team-Up With Sony

The impending launch of the PlayStation 5 is, without a doubt, one of the most-hyped events of 2020, all things considered. But when you get Travis Scott to design a fresh pair of kicks just to celebrate the new console’s release, you’re practically getting almost everyone to come down to the yard.

In a recent update on the PlayStation blog, Sony has announced a new “creative partnership” involving the American rapper and fashion designer and his design label, Cactus Jack, to produce “innovative projects” that will coincide with all things PlayStation.

“I’m really looking forward to being able to showcase everything that Cactus Jack has worked on with Sony and the PlayStation team,” said Scott in a press release. “Most importantly I’m excited to see how the PlayStation fans and family respond, and I look forward to running some games with everybody very soon!”

While no exact projects were announced at the time of writing, the 37-second video above suggests just what Travis Scott and the folks at Sony have been cooking up in the lab. Most prominently, a few variations of the Nike SB Dunk Low were seen, bearing the classic PlayStation logo near the heel area, and the Cactus Jack logo on the opposite side of the heal. Travis Scott’s signature reverse Nike swoosh on the outer side of the upper caps off the design as well.

We’ve yet to see the exact colourway of these sneakers, given that the video is in black and white, but expect something eye-catching, as is typical of his Nike collaborations. Also, a release date for these new PS5 Nike Dunks has yet to be announced, though we imagine the hype surrounding these sneakers means they’ll be sold out moments after launch.

Sony has collaborated with Nike to produce PlayStation-themed sneakers over the past few years, most notably various iterations of Paul George’s signature PG2 and PG2.5 basketball shoes
