Top Gun: Maverick Delayed… Yet Again Till 2022

It seems the wait for Top Gun: Maverick just gotten longer again no thanks to the concerns from the COVID-19 delta variant hampering theatre attendance in the US. The highly anticipated sequel to Tom Cruise’s 1986 classic has shifted its release date yet again, and hopefully for the absolute last time, from 19 November 2021 till 27 May 2022.

This announcement was made officially via Top Gun’s official Facebook page, via a cover picture update:

Top Gun: Maverick is directed by Joseph Kosinski and stars Tom Cruise alongside Miles Teller, Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, Glen Powell, and Lewis Pullman, with Ed Harris. It follows Cruise’s Pete “Maverick” Mitchell, now a flight aviator who ends up encountering Bradley “Rooster” Bradshaw, the son of his deceased best friend and partner Nick “Goose” Bradshaw.

Apart from Top Gun: Maverick, Paramount Studios also shifted Mission: Impossible 7 from 27 May 2022 to 22 October 2022, setting both Tom Cruise movies 4 months apart.
