‘Tomb Raider’ Set Video Sees Sophie Turner Carrying Dual Pistols

Fans have gotten their first glimpse at Sophie Turner in action as Lara Croft in Amazon’s upcoming Tomb Raider series, with behind-the-scenes set footage offering a look at the actress in full costume, and yes, she does her own stunts too.

This sneak peek comes from two separate behind-the-scenes videos, the first being a short clip posted on various social media, showcasing Turner walking through the forest clad in a new look. The suit, which comprises a beige long-sleeved t-shirt, long pants, and a tactical vest, offers a more weather-appropriate look to suit the rain than her usual tank top and shorts, while also sporting two leg holsters complete with her iconic dual pistols.

In a different set video posted by TMZ showcasing what looks to be the same scene, Turner can be seen performing a parachuting stunt, with the star hooked up to a rig and being propelled forward to make it look like she is landing after jumping from a plane. Once on the ground, Turner ditches the parachute pack and grabs a smaller backpack before continuing on into the forest.

With these two set videos, Amazon’s rendition of the iconic video game legend looks promising, and Turner does give off similar vibes to Camilla Luddington’s Croft, seen in Crystal Dynamics’ Tomb Raider reboot trilogy. All we need now is to hear Turner speak in-character to see if she can nail Croft’s confident yet sassy demeanour, something sure to be revealed once Amazon releases the series’ first trailer down the line.

Amazon’s Tomb Raider is helmed by Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag), and will star Turner alongside an ensemble cast that includes Sigourney Weaver (Alien) as Evelyn Wallis, Jason Isaacs (Harry Potter) as Atlas DeMornay, Bill Paterson (House of the Dragon) as Winston, and Martin Bobb-Semple (One of Us Is Lying) as Zip. The show will also introduce many new faces to the Tomb Raider lore, such as Gerry (Jack Bannon, Pennyworth), Lara’s personal pilot, Sasha (Sasha Luss, Anna), Lara’s deeply competitive adversary, and Lukas (August Wittgenstein, The Crown) an illegal raider who shares history with Lara.
