If you’re an avid Harry Potter fan, then you know July is the birth month of The Boy Who Lived. As such, there’s no better than to celebrate your Potterheadedness with some cool wizarding shoes.
Recently, American footwear brand K-Swiss announced a new collaboration with Warner Bros. to bring to fans the limited-edition Harry Potter x K-Swiss Firebolt Hypercourt Express 2 sneakers.
This silhouette sports a dark grey-brown colourway that is inspired by the colours of the iconic broom gifted (read: stolen) to Harry by his godfather, Sirius Black. Its upper bears contoured streaking that resembles the black bristles of the Firebolt, while silver footholds and an authentic wood grain adorn its midsole.
The tongue sports the K-Swiss logo in light brown, which, in a way, resembles the colour of the Golden Snitch, highlighting Harry’s role as a Seeker in Quidditch games. The collaboration logo can be found in the insole in gold lettering. The heel area sports the Harry Potter logo, with the “Firebolt” title below it, also in gold lettering.
The sneakers come in a purple-and-royal-gold box that the shoes come in comes with packing paper that resembles the Daily Prophet newspaper. Additionally, 20 of these shoe boxes as part of orders exclusively in Great Britain will contain a special Golden Snitch collectible.
The Harry Potter x K-Swiss Firebolt Hypercourt Express 2 will be available from 23 July exclusively via the Wizarding World online store, and retails for US$119.95 / £119.95. You must be a registered member of the Harry Potter Fan Club in order to purchase these Quidditch-inspired kicks.
