The LEGO NES 71374 Contains An Awesome Hidden Easter Egg Inside The Console

Nintendo and LEGO fans will be spending heaps of money this month, with the release of the LEGO Nintendo Entertainment System today (1 August), alongside the LEGO Super Mario – Adventures with Mario Starter Set and its accompanying Expansion Sets.

LEGO has a habit of including little Easter Eggs in some of their bigger building sets, such as last year’s LEGO Jurassic Park: T. Rex Rampage. This time, as you are building the NES console’s internals, you’ll eventually come across a section made of familiar-looking pieces that look like they are forming steps, platforms and green pipes, for the hidden warp zone in the original 1985 Super Mario Bros. NES game. That’s right, we’re talking about the World 1-2. If you remembered ever discovering the warp zone, the three green pipes (on the right), allows Mario to ‘warp’ to World 2, 3 and 4 respectively.

Best of all, after finishing the build, you can still easily access this nostalgic Easter Egg by simply popping off the panel on the right side of the console to reveal the awesome miniature warp zone to show off to other Nintendo nuts.
