‘The Last of Us’ Teases Season 2 With Iconic Ripped Forearm Image

With the HBO adaptation of The Last of Us coming to a successful end for its first season; it seems like prime time for the people behind the hit show to keep the hype train going. Of course, with no new episode to consume, this meant many viewers were going to go mad with anticipation with any links to season 2 of The Last of Us.

And that’s exactly what they got, courtesy of Neil Druckmann, co-creator of the video game and producer on the HBO show.

For anyone who is familiar with the games, the image represents one of the key parts of The Last of Us Part II, which will form the basis for season 2 of the show. The ripped forearm of Abby might just be an innocent tease for HBO viewers, but players will know it means something much more inconceivable.

In the second game, Abby is not just a new character, but a playable character. Furthermore, she does the unthinkable in removing Joel from the equation entirely in a very violent fashion. Needless to say, the conflict between her and Ellie will be a captivating one to watch on television.

While the HBO adaptation of The Last of Us will indeed cover the second game in season 2, there may well be narrative changes made. In fact, it might take more than one season for everything to unfold.

Nonetheless, it points to some exciting things to come in the future of The Last of Us on HBO, be it the events that will kick off season 2 or an explosive twist that no one saw coming. We will just have to wait and see.
