‘The Flash’ Trailer Shows More Batman, Reactions Call It One Of The Best Superhero Films

The new The Flash trailer just dropped, and it’s nuts!

Aside from revealing Michael Keaton’s return to the role of Batman and debuting Sashe Calle as Supergirl, the new trailer finally gives fans a good look at Michael Shannon’s comeback as General Zod.

The new The Flash trailer starts with Keaton’s Batman talking about the loss of his parents – something that our titular hero Barry Allen, played by Ezra Miller, knows all too well – and revealed that Barry had actually gone back in time to save his parents. Of course, changing the past leads to a universe-breaking consequence and the return of baddie General Zod.

We see Barry working with another Barry, two Batmans and Supergirl but taking down General Zod is no easy feat. Chaos and destruction happens at every corner and we even got a beautiful shot of Batman and the Batplane freefalling mid multiverse battle.

While the The Flash promotional materials so far have placed heavy emphasis on Keaton’s return, fans of Batffleck will appreciate seeing the actor make an appearance in this trailer too. Affleck’s Batman and Miller’s Flash first crossed paths in 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and teamed up in 2017’s Justice League. The Flash will be Affleck’s major return to the role and potentailly, his last appearance in James Gunn and Peter Safran’s new DC Universe.

If you’re not already hyped for The Flash, then this trailer will get you excited for what will possibly be, a huge superhero epic that fans have been wanting to see from DC all these years. Early screening reactions thus far have been overwhelmingly positive, with reviewers calling it one of the best superhero movies. Actor Miller and the movie’s comedy were also highly praised.

The Flash hits theatres on 16 June.
