It’s been nearly a decade since the last Expendables movie, and the next entry is set to bring out the big guns — starting from an epic team-up between both franchise veterans and newcomers. The first trailer for The Expendables 4 shows Sylvester Stallone and Jason Statham joining forces with a cast of fresh faces, including 50 Cent and Megan Fox.
In true Expendables fashion, it also promises plenty of high-octane, thrilling action to come. This time, the old timers and new blood are tasked with taking out terrorists who have taken possession of nuclear missiles on a cargo ship off the coast, and as promised by the tagline, they’ll [only] die when they’re dead.
Dolph Lundgren’s Gunner Jensen and Randy Couture’s Toll Road are returning to the franchise alongside Statham’s Lee Christmas and Stallone’s Barney Ross, with Fox, 50 Cent, Garcia, Tony Jaa, Iko Uwais, Jacob Scipio, and Levy Tran rounding out the newcomers list.
The Expendables 4 is due to blast its way to cinemas on 22 September. The official synopsis for the upcoming movie is as follows:
“The Expendables are the world’s last line of defense and the team that gets called when all other options are off the table. But new team members with new styles and tactics are going to give ‘new blood’ a whole new meaning.”
