Tekken 8 has enjoyed a running start so far, and players can expect more customization items to come as the game celebrates selling over 2 million copies globally. The Tekken World Tour will also accompany the game’s release, as countries worldwide gear up their dojos.
For the customisation buffs, Tekken 8 is set to introduce the Tekken Shop, featuring costumes from previous instalments, character skins for avatars, and licensed items from the game’s collaborations. Support for the game will come in the form of various content updates, esports events, music and licensing announcements, which will be announced in the near future.
Tekken 8 selling 2 million copies in just the first month of its release “greatly outpaces its predecessor, TEKKEN 7, which has the series’ total highest sales record of over 11.8 million copies sold worldwide,” said publisher and developer Bandai Namco in a statement released on its website.
The Tekken World Tour will run from 13 April 2024, and applications for dojos are now being accepted. Players who participate will compete for the title of best Tekken 8 player worldwide, so why not try your luck?
