‘Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythm Festival’ Gets Into The Beat With ‘Oshi no Ko’ Collaboration

It’s been two years and counting of musical mayhem with Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythm Festival, and the fun will continue to pick up when 5 December rolls around. The latest mainline entry in the long-running rhythm game series is getting an Oshi no Ko collaboration, taking the form of a paid DLC.

In addition to soundtracks from the anime, including opening themes “Idol” by YOASOBI and “Fatal” (GEMN), as well as the insert song “Our Sign Is B” (B-Komachi), players can also expect different cosmetics for their game and profile. The pack will introduce 11 mini-characters, with three dress-up variations for the Don Wada: Ai, Ruby, and Aqua.

First released on the Nintendo Switch in 2022, Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythm Festival launched on other consoles at a later date. The base game features 76 songs and brand-new modes, allowing players to cooperate on a song, or trigger obstacles to disrupt their opponents.

The tie-in comes after the controversial ending of the Oshi no Ko manga, which concluded the show business drama after 166 chapters. Season 3 of the anime has been announced, though a release date was not shared. New cast additions for the forthcoming outing include Mamoru Miyano (Bungou Stray DogsDeath Note) as Hikaru Kamiki, and Hina Kino (Buddy Daddies, Genshin Impact) as Tsukuyomi.
