Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Heads To August’s Nintendo Direct

Nintendo’s E3 2018 showcase highlighted a mix of existing and new titles, but the highly-anticipated Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was inarguably the ultimate (ha) scene stealer. From bringing back every single character who has appeared in any Super Smash Bros. title (except Waluigi, for he’s only been an assist trophy) to introducing new additions into the lineup, such as Daisy and Ridley, fans certainly have plenty to look forward to.

Excitement hit an all-high level when the team subsequently delved deeper into gameplay mechanics and details, of which a lot were unveiled. Come August 8, 2018, at 7am PT / 10am ET, the community will be further treated to even more information from game director Masahiro Sakurai himself, as announced by the company account on Twitter. In Singapore’s time (GMT +8), that translates to 10pm on the same day, so any and all Smash enthusiasts here might want to tune in then.

Prior to E3 2018, news of the game first broke out in March, when Nintendo teased of its return during a memorable Nintendo Direct session. Shortly after that, Sakurai revealed that he will head back to the fold once again, and we can’t wait to see what more he has up his sleeves in two days’ time – and when Super Smash Bros. Ultimate drops on December 7, 2018 for the Switch!
