The Big Game may be the most significant event for sports and American football enthusiasts, but there’s more to the excitement than touchdowns. For Hollywood and movie fans, it’s also where sneak peeks at some of the biggest films of the year are unveiled, and 2026 has its fair share of entertainment (plus, a surprise or two) in its wings.
Making up for Marvel’s superhero no-show is DC Studios’ Supergirl, while Disney puts all its weight behind The Mandalorian and Grogu. Elsewhere, Steven Spielberg is set to return to his sci-fi roots after 40 years, as Scream 7 revisits familiar horrors yet again.
Here’s a recap of every trailer shown during Super Bowl 2026.
Supergirl
The latest clip for Supergirl aired on Animal Planet’s Puppy Bowl instead of the main event, and it’s nothing short of apt. Krypto, the canine companion who debuted in James Gunn’s Superman, is younger and smaller here, offering a look into his and Kara Zol-El’s journey after a tragedy on the superheroine’s home planet of Krypton.
Supergirl, which is based on the 2021 mini-series Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow by Tom King and Bliquis Evely, soars into theatres on 26 June 2026.
Hoppers
Hailing from Pixar and Disney, Hoppers follows animal lover Mabel (Piper Curda, I Didn’t Do It), who uses technology that places her consciousness into a robotic beaver to communicate with wildlife and save them, as well as her garden, from being destroyed by Mayor Jerry’s (Jon Hamm, Mad Men) construction project. Beavers won’t be the only animals present — the 30-second teaser also highlights other critters, including snakes, lizards, turtles, and dancing frogs.
The animated feature is slated for a theatrical release on 6 March.
Scream 7
Neve Campbell’s Sidney Prescott cannot catch a break, even after marrying Mark Evans (Joel McHale, The Bear) in Scream 7. In a history-repeats-itself moment, a new Ghostface killer is out for blood in her quiet town, except her daughter — now the same age as Sidney was in the 1996 original — is the target this time.
The seventh entry in the slasher film series returns to haunt on 27 February.
Disclosure Day
Earning the EGOT status is no mean feat, and Spielberg keeps the momentum going with his first sci-fi film in a while. Much of Disclosure Day remains under wraps, but it involves aliens, a UFO, and a live broadcast of an inexplicable extraterrestrial phenomenon. Emily Blunt (The Devil Wears Prada) leads the cast as a weatherwoman, with Josh O’Connor (Challengers), Colin Firth (Kingsman), Eve Hewson (Robin Hood), and Colman Domingo (Euphoria) filling out the roster.
Disclosure Day comes to theatres on 12 June.
The Mandalorian and Grogu
Everyone’s favourite duo is back, though not in the way some may expect. In a tongue-in-cheek trailer that feels more like a commercial, the Mandalorian known as Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal, The Last of Us) and Grogu are seen using the Force to steer a group of Tauntauns through the snow while sitting in a carriage.
The Mandalorian and Grogu is set for a galaxy far, far away on 22 May.
The Adventures of Cliff Booth

A surprise drop for Super Bowl 2026, The Adventures of Cliff Booth serves as David Fincher’s follow-up to Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood, with Brad Pitt reprising his role as the titular stuntman — long hair, moustache, and all of that. No release date was announced, but it’s “coming soon”.
Minions & Monsters
The Minions are back to cause more chaos in Minions & Monsters, where they search the world for ghouls and ghosts to appear as villains in their monster movie. Alongside a…uh, mini-Cthulu partner, the bright yellow critters go toe-to-toe with giant beasts, a pink bunny, and more, against the vocal track of Blackpink’s “How Do You Like That”.
The official description reads, “This is the rambunctious, ridiculous and totally true story of how the Minions conquered Hollywood, became movie stars, lost everything, unleashed monsters onto the world and then banded together to try and save the planet from the mayhem they had just created.”
Minions & Monsters comes to theatres on 1 July.
Project Hail Mary
Adapted from “The Martian” author Andy Weir’s novel of the same name, Project Hail Mary stars Ryan Gosling (La La Land) as a man sent on a high-stakes mission into space with no recollection of who he is. His only companion is a rocky-looking Alien named, well, Rocky, and the pair sets off on an adventure to save their respective worlds.
Project Hail Mary takes flight on 20 March.
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie
Fans already know that Yoshi will appear in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, but he won’t be the only familiar face from the franchise. A brief teaser for Super Bowl 2026 offers a glimpse of Baby Mario and Baby Luigi, who are rescued from a t-rex by the adorable dinosaur and Toad.
The sequel is slated for release in theatres on 1 April.
