Star Wars: Tales From Galaxy’s Edge VR Brings Theme Park To Homes

It would seem Star Wars and virtual reality go hand in hand. Following the success of both Vader Immortal and other in-person VR experiences, ILMxLAB has revealed a new Star Wars VR project.

Star Wars: Tales from Galaxy’s Edge will take place between The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker, and will “connect to Galaxy’s Edge” both “inside and outside” of the real-life theme park attraction.

Being developed in collaboration with Oculus Studios, Tales from Galaxy’s Edge will take place on the planet of Batuu. It will feature both new and returning icons from the Star Wars galaxy. What might interest players more is there inclusion of different difficulty settings, which will ensure the VR experience remains a challenging one.

We are so excited for fans to step into Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge later this year. This action-packed adventure not only speaks to the promise of connected and complementary experiences by extending the lore around Black Spire Outpost, it represents another meaningful step in ILMxLAB’s quest to transition  from storytelling — one-way communication — to storyLIVING, where you’re inside a world making consequential choices that drive your experience forward.”

Vicki Dobbs Beck, ILMxLAB executive-in-charge

More will be revealed at a later time, and it will surely be exciting for fans of Star Wars. After all, the chance to live out the fantasy and immerse yourself in this fictional universe is only made better by VR.
