Star Wars Celebration 2020 Cancelled Due To Covid-19

As the months go by, we’ve just been receiving news of events after events getting cancelled, be it Tokyo Game Show or the San Diego Comic-Con. This time, the latest event to be affected by the coronavirus outbreak is Star Wars Celebration 2020.

The event was originally supposed to happen from 27 to 30 August at the Anaheim Convention Center. This will mark the first time the event has been cancelled since it started. 

“At Star Wars Celebration, the health and safety of our fans, attendees, exhibitors, guests and staff is always our number one priority,” the organizers of Star Wars Celebration stated in a statement. “Due to the global impact of the COVID-19 virus and in speaking with local and state authorities on the latest public health guidelines related to indoor conventions, we have made the decision to cancel Star Wars celebration for 2020.”

The next Star Wars Celebration will be happening in 2022 and fans who have already purchased a ticket can choose to have it refunded or transferred to the Celebration in 2022, which is scheduled to take place from 18 to 21 August 2022

According to Lucasfilm, customers who wish to refund the tickets can do so from 22 June to 26 August. Despite there not being a Star Wars Celebration this year, fans can still get to buy exclusive Star Wars merchandise during those dates.
