Star Trek: Discovery Season 4 Teases A New Destructive Threat

The new season of Star Trek: Discovery seems to have encountered a threat unlike any other.

The first teaser trailer revealed during Paramount’s First Contact Day shows Sonequa Martin-Green’s Captain Burnham taking charge of her new role in the team. The USS Discovery crew also appear worried about a five light-years wide gravitational anomaly that seems to have caused a lot of havoc and chaos to the ship as seen by the destructive bridge pyrotechnics.

Here, fans finally get to see Captain Burnham, taking the captain’s chair in a red uniform, after being promoted to captain at the end of season three.

Star Trek: Discovery

According to the season’s official description, season four of Star Trek: Discovery finds Captain Burnham and the crew of USS Discovery facing a threat they’ve never seen before. Both the Federation and non-federation alike are feeling the impact. In order to ensure a hopeful future for all, they must all work together to confront the unknown threat.

Critics have considered the previous season to be Paramount+ show’s strongest season yet, even launching the spinoff series, Strange New Worlds, which is starting its production this month. Star Trek: Picard is expected to return for a new season with Paramount revealing that popular franchise character, Q to join the crew in 2022.

Star Trek: Discovery season four does not have a confirmed release date yet but it is scheduled to premiere later this year.
