The teaser for the second season of Star Trek’s Picard has dropped and it was as if time stood still.
From the teaser, Patrick Stewart’s Jean Luc Picard can be heard pondering and reflecting on “the true final frontier”, otherwise known as time. Stewarts’s character speaks over the trailer while the audience gets a sprawling look inside an office that is adorned by paintings and figurines of the Starship Enterprise, the artwork of the Starfleet insignia and an hourglass moving in reverse.
As the teaser continues, the music shifts and a sinister twist follows. A queen of hearts playing card can be seen on the table, slowly disintegrating only having left a letter “Q”.
This ending can only lead us to one character and that is John de Lancie’s Q. De Lancie is confirmed to reprise his role as Q, the mysterious antihero, in season two when it returns to Paramount+ in 2022.
Along with Stewart and De Lancie are fellow cast members Alison Pill, Isa Briones, Evan Evagora, Michelle Hurd, Santiago Cabrera, Jeri Ryan, Orla Brady and Brent Spiner who will appear in season two. The anticipated season two has already started production, as revealed by Paramount+.
Star Trek: Picard follows its titular character as he steps into the next chapter of his life, and we just can’t wait to see what they have in store for us.
