Star Trek: Lower Decks Gets Season 2 Trailer, Release Date And Season 3 Renewal

As if First Contact Day can’t get any better! Amongst the exciting teaser trailer releases for Star Trek: Picard and Star Trek: Discovery, Star Trek: Lower Decks is joining in the fun by releasing their own season 2 teaser and release date.

Releasing on 12 August, Star Trek: Lower Decks season 2 sees more “sci-fi stuff” as Beckett puts it such as fighting aliens, anomalies and more. The teaser also hints more Captain Riker involvement in the upcoming series.

As per the official release, Star Trek: Lower Decks “focuses on the support crew serving on one of Starfleet’s least important ships, the U.S.S. Cerritos, in 2380. Ensigns Mariner, Boimler, Rutherford and Tendi have to keep up with their duties and their social lives, often while the ship is being rocked by a multitude of sci-fi anomalies.”

The news of season 2 has been raking in tons of excitement from fans who enjoy the adult-comedy animated series. Creator Mike McMahan also announced that the series is getting a season 3 renewal too.

The animated comedy series stars Tawney Newsome as Ensign Beckett Mariner, Jack Quaid as Ensign Brad Boimler, Noël Wells as Ensign Tendi, Eugene Cordero as Ensign Rutherford, along with Dawnn Lewis as Captain Carol Freeman, Jerry O’Connell as Commander Jack Ransom, Fred Tatasciore as Lieutenant Shaxs, and Gillian Vigman as Doctor T’Ana.
