Netflix has officially confirmed the release date for Squid Game Season 3, ensuring fans won’t have to endure another long wait between seasons.
The official confirmation of the upcoming release date, 27 June 2025, has been accompanied by a striking new poster featuring a Pink Guard carrying a contestant toward a coffin wrapped in a pink ribbon. The looming figures of Young-hee, the infamous doll from Red Light, Green Light, and her newly introduced companion, Cheol-su, suggest that the deadly games will be more intense than ever.
As the story moves into its final phase, Gi-hun’s journey takes centre stage. After emerging victorious in the first season, he refused to live in comfort while others continued to suffer at the hands of those orchestrating the games. His determination to dismantle the system led him directly back into the nightmare, where he once again found himself trapped in the brutal competition. With the shocking death of Jung-bae at the hands of the Front Man in the Season 2 finale, the psychological toll on Gi-hun is undeniable.
The Squid Game phenomenon has continued to grow since its 2021 debut. Season 1 remains the most-watched non-English show on Netflix, amassing 265.2 million views, which translates to an astonishing 2.205 billion hours watched. It outperformed even English-language hits like Wednesday, which garnered 252.1 million views and 1.718 billion hours. Season 2 has already shattered records, accumulating 173.7 million views and 1.244 billion hours watched. Combined, the series has drawn in 438.9 million views, solidifying its place as one of the most successful productions in streaming history.

Beyond the main storyline, Squid Game has expanded into additional projects, including Squid Game: The Challenge, a reality competition series, and an upcoming English-language adaptation led by director David Fincher. While Season 3 will bring the original narrative to a close, Netflix has no intention of letting the franchise end entirely. Future spin-offs and expansions are expected, ensuring that the universe will continue to evolve beyond Gi-hun’s final chapter.
Unanswered questions continue to linger as the series approaches its conclusion. Can Gi-hun break the cycle and bring the games to an end, or will the forces behind them remain untouchable? With the promise of an unforgettable finale, Squid Game Season 3 arrives on Netflix on 27 June 2025.
