Tom Holland is no stranger to donning the suit of the friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man, but that doesn’t make him immune to excitement. In an official behind-the-scenes featurette for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the British star revealed that slipping back into the Spider-Suit “feels different this time,” offering a sneak peek at the first day of production.
“It’s day one, my fourth-ever day one on Spider-Man,” he says as he walks on set. “It’s funny, putting the suit on, it feels different this time, somehow. It’s also the first time we ever had fans on set day one, so it’s really exciting to share this with them.”
“We’ve got some familiar faces on set. I’m just going to do my best, hopefully get it right, no pressure,” he added.
Set against a heroic-sounding musical score, the one-minute clip also includes snippets of the crowd and Holland’s execution of a high-wire stunt on the top of a tank, who exclaims at the end of it, “Wow, that was a really good one. That felt sick.”

The vignette comes a few days after Sony and Marvel’s teaser on X/Twitter, showing off the new superhero gear to be featured in the upcoming film, as well as Holland’s first-day photos on Instagram.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day marks the fourth instalment in the Holland-led franchise, following 2021’s No Way Home. While story specifics remain under wraps, the comic book storyline it adapts sees Peter Parker landing a deal with Mephisto to make the world forget his identity as Spider-Man and resurrect Aunt May. However, the spell ends up resetting his world and terminating his marriage with MJ, played by Zendaya (Euphoria) in the movies.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings helmer Destin Daniel Cretton serves as director on the project, in which Zendaya and Jacob Batalon (Novocaine) will reprise their respective roles — the latter as Peter Parker’s best friend, Ned. The extent of their contributions remains unclear, with Stranger Things star Sadie Sink set to make her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in a mystery role alongside The Bear‘s Liza Colón-Zayas. Other notable appearances include Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle / The Punisher, Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner, aka the Hulk, and Michael Mando’s Scorpion.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day swings into theatres on 31 July 2026.
