Netflix’s live-action Solo Leveling adaptation has found its leading lady, as Gyeongseong Creature star Han So-hee has been tapped to join its cast as S-Rank hunter, Cha Hae-In.

First reported by Korean news site Sports Kyunghyang, Han will portray the fan-favourite character who is not only formidable with a blade in battle, but also possesses a keen sense of smell that allows her to detect mana. Her character is also the Vice Guild Master of the Hunters Guild, alongside the love interest of the protagonist Sung Jin-woo.
Known for her performance in the 2020 JTBC drama The World of the Married and many high-profile dramas, including Netflix’s 2021 action crime thriller My Name and the 2023 historical mystery-horror series Gyeongseong Creature, Han joins the Solo Leveling series alongside another beloved actor, Byeon Woo-seok (20th Century Girl, Lovely Runner), who will portray its protagonist, E-rank Hunter Sung.
Solo Leveling first began as a South Korean fantasy Webtoon novel written by Chugong, which has since amassed 14.3 billion cumulative views worldwide since its KakaoPage debut in 2023. In 2024, the IP received an anime adaptation, which garnered massive success over the course of its two current seasons, making history as the first Korean IP-based series to dominate the 2025 Crunchyroll Anime Awards, where it clinched nine trophies, including Anime of the Year, Best Action and Best Character.

In July this year, Netflix announced that it was working on the live-action adaptation, and that the series will be co-directed by Lee Hae-jun and Kim Byung-seo, known for films like Ashfall, My Dictator and Cold Eyes. The series will be produced by Kakao Entertainment and SANAI PICTURES.
The live-action Solo Leveling adaptation has yet to receive a release date or further plot details, with its official story synopsis on Netflix reading: “Solo Leveling follows Sung Jin-woo, an E-rank Hunter — the lowest tier — who gains extraordinary abilities after a near-death experience. As he levels up, he becomes humanity’s unexpected hope, defending against monstrous threats emerging from beyond the mysterious Gates.”
