Local game studio LandShark Games, known for adorable fish game Zen Koi, and former Facebook game Aviator, is stepping into the turn-based RPG sphere with Grifford Academy, a heartwarming and empowering coming-of-age RPG releasing this year. A first trailer was revealed at the Guerilla Collective Showcase, ahead of the Steam Next Fest.
The third-person game features a cast of misfit teenagers who find themselves transported into the mystical storybook world of Caldria, where fearsome enemies and allies in need of rescuing challenge these unlikely heroes.
As with all turn-based games, you can level up your heroes and equip them with weapons, and defeat enemies to earn experience points. Each character has a unique role in the party, as you fight your way across Caldria in search of answers. Narrative choices also matter in story and combat decisions, in an engaging story which has an easy mode and a strategy mode.
Want to try out Grifford Academy? A demo is currently available ahead of its launch, which will be in the third quarter of 2024, so keep a lookout for the game when it releases on Steam!
