Singapore Comic Con (SGCC) 2025 Cosplay Highlights!

The end-of-year period is truly a blissful one for the ACG (anime, comics, and games) community, as just a mere week after the Anime Festival Asia (AFA) Singapore 2025, yet another massive geeky convention has arrived – the Singapore Comic Con (SGCC) 2025, closing off the year with an eventful weekend where toy and comic enthusiasts of all fandoms come together to bask in the camaraderie.

Running from 5 to 7 December, with its first day dedicated to the first-ever Preview Night festivities, SGCC 2025 marked the convention’s biggest year yet, spanning five halls of booths filled with exclusive merchandise and awe-inspiring statues, unique fan creations at the Artist Alley, exciting stage performances, table-top gaming and trading card games (TCG) galore.

Just like every year’s event, it’s not just the booths that took the spotlight, but the crowd itself, with no shortage of eye-catching cosplays to add that special touch of flair to the weekend. This year, the allure of the Force, be it the Dark side or the Light, was strong on the event floor, with many decked out in their best Star Wars fit, from Darth Vader himself to the humble trooper, the adorably annoying Jawa, or everyone’s favourite Chewbacca.

It’s not just about the franchise’s film characters either, as the showfloor also featured some introduced in its gaming universe, such as a gender-swapped Cal Kestis and her lovable BD-1 droid from the Star Wars Jedi series. In fact, the event was abuzz with recognisable faces across the world of video games, with heroes from Helldivers 2, Fallout New Vegas, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, and Love and Deepspace making an appearance.

Riding the hype of recent blockbuster films like Predator: Badlands and Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, some familiar characters seemed to pop straight out of the big screen, such as an armoured up Yautja on the hunt with a blade in hand, or Marionette, the creepy animatronic puppet springing out of an unassuming box to terrorise its unlucky victim.

Walk around the show floor, and fans were treated to no shortage of iconic faces across a diverse selection of franchises like Aang from Avatar the Last Airbender, or various Marvel heroes like Deadpool and Spider-Man. The Warhammer 40,000 universe was also a hit this year, with cosplayers sporting magnificent outfits such as the Emperor of Mankind and a Guardsman from the Cadian 101st, as seen below:

With so many iconic characters being brought to life right on the show floor, SGCC 2025 keeps the energy going from AFA the week prior, proving that the love for cosplay transcends the boundaries of fandoms, and with the convention getting bigger each year, the event only serves to hype up the anticipation on what sights, sounds and characters next year’s run will bring.
