Hot on the heels of its delay to May 2026, Rockstar Games has released a second trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI, showcasing more of the game’s narrative, alongside additional details on its characters and six major explorable locations.
Although it doesn’t show any new gameplay footage, the cinematic trailer focuses on its two protagonists, Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, teasing their relationship and the trouble the pair get into throughout the game. “Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them,” reads the trailer’s official description, “”But when an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida — forced to rely on each other more than ever if they want to make it out alive.”
Apart from the new trailer, Rockstar has also updated the game’s website with additional information, detailing the six major locations players would be able to explore in the game alongside its cast of main and supporting characters.
Grand Theft Auto VI will be split into the following six major locations, with its website providing a brief description of each:
- Vice City: The glamour, hustle, and greed of America captured in a single city with its neighbourhoods offering sights like the pastel art deco hotels and bright white sands of Ocean Beach, the bustling panaderías of Little Cuba, the bootleg brands of the Tisha-Wocka flea market and the cruise ship capital of the world, the VC Port.
- Leonida Keys: A tropical archipelago that’s the doorstep of some of the most beautiful and dangerous waters in all of America, filled with equal parts beaches and bars.
- Grassrivers: An untamed stretch of mangroves filled with gators and other dangerous creatures.
- Port Gellhorn: A once-popular vacation spot, this forgotten coast is now home to cheap motels, shut-down attractions, and empty strip malls, fueled by malt liquor, painkillers, and truck stop energy drinks.
- Ambrosia: An industrial area and home to the Allied Crystal sugar refinery, alongside a local biker gang.
- Mount Kalaga: A national landmark up against the state’s northern border that offers prime hunting, fishing, and off-road trails, although it’s also home to hillbilly mystics and paranoid radicals.
Additionally, Rockstar has also provided more details on the game’s cast of characters, ranging from not just its two main protagonists, but also allies and potential foes like seedy businessman Boobie Ike, hustler Dre’Quan Priest, aspiring musical artiste Real Dimez and seasoned bank robber Raul Bautista.
With a host of new game details and six sprawling locations to explore, Grand Theft Auto VI is shaping up to bring the franchise to an unparalleled scale. Only time will tell if its gameplay can match up to its hefty ambitions as it inches towards its release on 26 May 2026 for the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, with a PC release coming after.
