Redmi Note 12 Series Packs Premium Features At Affordable Prices

A 200MP camera might lead the charge for smartphone makers looking to establish a foothold in the ever-crowded mobile space, but Xiaomi is setting the gold standard by placing impressive hardware on its Redmi Note 12 range of affordable devices.

So instead of paying upwards of $1,800 for the latest piece of hardware touting the most advanced camera found on a smartphone, you’re looking at paying just a third of the price, starting from S$469 with two mid-range devices – the 6.67-inch Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G, and Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G.

With these devices, one of China’s leading tech brands is making high-end smartphone features accessible to more people in the world, without charging exorbitant rates.

This marks the first time that Xiaomi’s mid-range lineup will feature a 200MP camera, as well as optical image stabilization (OIS) and Xiaomi’s own AI Image Solution with no increase in costs.

The 200MP main camera with OIS is the foundation of the Redmi Note 12 Pro+’s triple camera set-up which includes an ultra-wide camera and a macro camera. While the Note 12 Pro+ is one of only a handful of phones to feature a 200MP main lens, it is the only device at this price point.

And let’s not forget about its cousin, The Redmi Note 12 Pro! The Note 12 Pro is redefining what upper mid-range smartphones should be touting, with Xiaomi’s flagship-level IMX766 sensor that allows for better night photography, as well as more detailed low-light photography. You don’t even need to be on night mode to get a shot of sunsets or streets with artificial lighting, but with night mode turned on, you can expect a boost of brightness and details in darker environments. It also features an ultrawide and macro camera.

Both phones are powered with powerful AI software algorithms too so you can count on elevated image processing and true-to-life shots with little evidence of any post-processing.

Outside of the 200MP main camera, the Note 12 Pro+ and Note 12 Pro are powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1080 Processor, and sport the bright and vivid 120Hz Flow AMOLED Display, with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos support. Pair that with the phones’ slim bezels, you’re looking at a great visual experience when gaming or catching your favourite dramas on the go.

While more widely available, 120Hz AMOLED displays aren’t found in most mid-range devices and their inclusion here is a reflection of Xiaomi’s long term goal of offering the best hardware for the masses.

The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ is equipped with Smart 120W HyperCharge, a 5000mAh long-lasting battery with the Xiaomi Surge P1 Chipset powered by MediaTek Dimensity 1080 Processor. This is perhaps a standard for flagship phones, but it’s definitely a new offering for mid-range phones.

The 12 Pro+ can last a full day with charge to spare and with 120W HyperCharge, running low on battery is not a concern at all. You can hit about 60% within 15 minutes and 100% within 25 minutes if you forgot to charge your phone the night before or are travelling and want a quick juice boost!

A long-lasting battery can also be found in the Redmi Note 12 Pro. It features 67W turbo-charging, a 5,000 mAh battery and is powered by the high-performance MediaTek Dimensity 1080 Processor 6nm. It takes less than an hour to hit a full charge of 100% and can last a good 7-hour day if you’re a heavy user. If you ever run out of battery, you can charge it for a quick 15 minutes and still get by the day with a 50% charge.

The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G and Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G is available in Midnight Black, Polar White and Sky Blue, from authorised Xiaomi Stores and from Shopee and Lazada.
