Red Dead Redemption 2’s Navigation And Cooking Details!

Guess who’s come up with a new recipe?

No, not our beloved, bespectacled royal advisor from Final Fantasy XV (FFXV). The up and coming in-game chef extraordinaire is Red Dead Redemption 2’s Arthur Morgan!

It’s been recently revealed on French site, Jeux Actu, that Arthur will be capable of cooking meals that’ll give you a variety of gameplay boosts, depending on the ingredients you use — so maybe we’ll be treated to some FFXV-esque food-porn. Although the cooking system in Red Dead Redemption 2 seems to lean more on the side of trial and error, as opposed to FFXV’s cut-and-dry recipes, which… makes a vast amount of sense since you can’t expect to be spoon-fed when you’re an outlaw.

If that brand of versatility and experimentation is your thing, then you might be happy to know that you’ll be getting the real nineteenth-century experience, should you decide to turn the game’s mini-map off — because there’s no such thing as Google Maps back in 1899.

Thanks to Croatian magazine Gameplay, we know that with the head-up display disabled, non-playable characters will include directions in their dialogue, and we think that’s a pretty cool option to give players a more in-depth sort of world immersion.

It’s also been confirmed that Native Americans will be making an appearance, although we’re currently unsure how significant of a part they’ve been assigned in terms of gameplay and narrative.

Nevertheless, Red Dead Redemption 2 looks like it’s going to be a world of rollicking fun, and we definitely can’t wait for it to go up on the shelves, come October 26, 2018.
