‘Ready or Not 2’ Marks High-Stakes Return With Samara Weaving, Kathryn Newton & New Crazy Families

Samara Weaving’s Grace can’t seem to catch a break. After surviving her own wedding night and a series of grisly deaths in Ready or Not, the bloody bride is set to return for round two — this time, with new company in tow.

The high stakes are established from the very start in the trailer for Ready or Not 2: Here I Come, which opens with, “You’ve caused quite a stir, Mrs Le Domas. You married into that family; now they’re dead. What you didn’t know is that this goes far beyond them.”

It continues in the voice of Elijah Wood (Lord of the Rings), who plays a nameless lawyer, “By surviving Hide-and-Seek, you’ve triggered a new game, this time against the High Council Families, double or nothing. This part will be familiar; they will try to kill you.” Cue plenty of running, tag-team action between Grace and her newly introduced sister Faith (Kathryn Newton, Supernatural), brutal kills, and dangerously close calls.

Joining the leading pair are Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) as Ursula Danforth, Shawn Hatosy (The Pitt) as Titus Danforth, and David Cronenberg (Shivers) as Mr Danforth. Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett return to direct the sequel, with Tripp Vinson, James Vanderbilt, William Sherak and Bradley J. Fischer serving as producers.

Ready or Not 2: Here I Come Trailer

“Moments after surviving an all-out attack from the Le Domas family, Grace discovers she’s reached the next level of the nightmarish game — and this time with her estranged sister Faith at her side,” reads the official logline. “Grace has one chance to survive, keep her sister alive, and claim the High Seat of the Council that controls the world. Four rival families are hunting her for the throne, and whoever wins rules it all.”

Ready or Not 2: Here I Come will mark the third reteam between Weaving and the helmer duo, following its predecessor and Scream VI. The first film was released in 2019 and became earchlight’s biggest release of the year, earning US$57.6 million globally against a US$6 million budget.

The sequel will ramp up the adrenaline on 10 April 2026.
