Ready or not, Samara Weaving (Home and Away, Scream VI) and her killer cast are back to deliver more thrills. The sequel to 2019’s horror hit, titled Ready or Not 2: Here I Come, is set to open in theatres on 10 April 2026 after wrapping production, which began earlier in April.
Plot details remain under lock and key, but Weaving will step back into the shoes of Grace in the upcoming feature. Horror veterans Sarah Michelle Gellar and Elijah Wood are the latest additions to the roster, joining Kathryn Newton (Lisa Frankenstein), Shawn Hatosy (The Pitt), Néstor Carbonell (Bates Motel), Kevin Durand (Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes), and director David Cronenberg (The Fly) in a rare acting role.
Original directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett return to the director’s chair, reuniting them with much of the creative team, including writers Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy, The Umbrella Academy production designer Andrew Stearn, director of photography Brett Jutkiewicz (Scream), Scream VI costume designer Avery Plewes, and makeup head of department Colin Penman (The Apprentice).
Ready or Not 2: Here I Come also marks the third reteam between Weaving and the helmer duo, following its predecessor and Scream VI. Released in 2019, the first movie focuses on Grace, a young bride who marries into a family of ultra-wealthy devil-worshippers intent on killing her before sunrise in a murderous game of hide and seek. It became Searchlight’s biggest release of the year, earning US$57.6 million globally against a US$6 million budget.
The sequel is slated for release on 10 April 2026.
