POCO F7 Series Welcomes First Ultra Model From Just S$869

Performance and value have always gone hand in hand with POCO offerings, and it won’t be any different for its latest flagship refresh. The brand lifted the curtain on the F7 Series during a launch event held in Singapore on 27 March, featuring the base F7 Pro and a more powerful Ultra model – the first in its family of devices.

POCO F7 Series

Powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, the former promises a hardware step-up from before (Gen 2). It weighs in at 206 grams, slightly down from 209 grams, and measures 160.2 x 74.95 x 8.12 mm versus 160.9 x 75 x 8.2 mm on its predecessor, the F6 Pro. The 6.67-inch display remains largely unchanged, offering a resolution of 3,200 x 1,440 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate, with peak brightness dropping from 4,000 nits to 3,200 nits.

Eye care technology has also been incorporated into the screen. Linear polarised light is converted into circularly polarised light to mimic natural illumination for greater viewing comfort, while TUV Rheinland Low Blue Light, Flicker Free, and Circadian Friendly Certifications ensure minimal strain, even during prolonged sessions.

Camera-wise, users can expect a 50-megapixel (MP) rear shooter with the Light Fusion 800 image sensor, alongside an 8MP ultra-wide camera and an upgraded 20MP selfie camera. Running on the company’s new AI-powered AISP platform, which integrates the computational power of the CPU, GPU, NPU, short for Neural Processing Unit, and Image Signal Processor, the F7 Pro touts the UltraSnap feature – allowing for rapid continuous capture – and dual focal length portraits for both wide-angle and classic shots.

The POCO F7 Ultra presents a beefier alternative for those seeking the extra punch. It pairs a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor with the VisionBoost D7, the company’s first-ever dedicated graphics chip, and introduces POCO’s most advanced imaging system yet. Sporting a 50MP main camera and 32MP ultra-wide snapper, the device grants access to eight focal lengths, including 35mm for everyday use, 48mm for portraits, 60mm for 2.5X optical zoom, 120mm for 5X zoom, and more.
