Persona 6 Delayed, Possibly For Rumoured Persona 3 Remake

Fans of Persona may have to wait a bit longer for the next installment in the acclaimed series.

According to Reset Era member Im A Hero Too, who has leaked details on Persona games in the past, Persona 6 was apparently recently delayed internally at developer Atlus, and that there’s “Absolute zero chance [Persona] 6 releases this year.”

Meanwhile, a remake of Persona 3 has also been heavily rumoured to be in the works for some time. With all the quality-of-life improvements made to the Persona series in Persona 5 and Persona 5 Royal, it would be nice to revisit Persona 3 (which first released in 2006) with those updates.

In 20 September 2021 up to 8 October 2022, Atlus had a slew of announcements relating to the Persona series for its 25th anniversary. This left fans anticipating that the 25th anniversary event would culminate in the official announcement of Persona 6. However, fans were left mostly disappointed when the announcements amounted to concerts, new merchandise, and ports or remasters of several Persona games (including Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, Persona 5 Royal, Persona 4 Golden and Persona 3 Portable), with no Persona 6 in sight.

In truth, there were two planned announcements from the 25th anniversary event that were quietly removed from the schedule. It’s possible that these announcements were planned for Persona 6 and Persona 3 Remake, before encountering issues in production or development.
