Asia’s King Of Fruits, Durian, Is Star Wars Canon After ‘The Mandalorian’ Cameo

You don’t go looking for durian, durian finds you.

In the Season 3 premiere of The Mandalorian, the fruit (or perhaps some alien strand of it?) was spotted as Din Djarin, along with Grogu, strolls through the open market at the port of Nevarro (gem of the Outer Rim).

In a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment, we see a basket full of durian as a hand reaches in to pick one up.

The iconic “King of Fruits” is infamous for its pungent smell and large, spiky exterior. This extraordinary fruit can be difficult to cultivate, but it boasts several nutritious qualities. While it is reviled by some folks, many others enjoy its creamy flesh. More notably, Singapore’s official fruit is the durian. The Esplanade building next to Marina Bay, with its pointed aluminum shades, resembles a durian that has been cut in half.

Grogu does appear to be particularly fascinated when we see him surveying the market. When can we see Grogu try some durian?
