‘Percy Jackson and the Olympians’ Debuts Season 2 Teaser And Casts Beloved Characters For Season 3

The showrunners of the Disney+ series Percy Jackson and the Olympians appeared at San Diego Comic-Con 2025 on Thursday to drop the teaser trailer for the second season, as well as unveil a vital piece of casting ahead of the third season.

The teaser trailer depicts a discernibly more mature-looking Walker Scobell (The Adam Project) as the titular Percy Jackson, as he navigates yet another treacherous quest into the Sea of Monsters with Leah Sava Jeffries’ (Beast) Annabeth Chase and Dior Goodjohn’s (Are You Afraid of the Dark?) Clarisse La Rue. Off in the forest, Aryan Simhadri’s (Trevor: The Musical) Grover is on his own search.

Meanwhile, as Charlie Bushnell’s (Diary of a Future President) Luke Castellan trains his swordplay, a voiceover ominously warns of a looming war on the horizon. The trailer ends with a short climactic battle scene as Percy’s Cyclops half-brother, Tyson, played by Daniel Diemer (The Half of It), saves Walker’s Percy from a fireball, prompting a look of confusion and surprise from him.

Briefly visible in the trailer, a chariot race served as a chaotic highlight from the book that has no doubt been a massive undertaking during production. “The chariot track is the most amazing set I’ve been on in my whole career. It’s going to be a sequence that blows you guys away because it blew me away,” commented executive producer Craig Silverstein. Timothy Simons, who plays Tantalus in Season 2 of the series, also echoed this sentiment, joking, “I’ve never been on anything that had a fire budget.”

Based on the teaser, Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2 already appears to be a fairly accurate depiction of the source material, from the portrayal of the chariot races to Clarisse’s warship and undead Confederate soldiers. Fans can breathe a sigh of relief, knowing that the series has continued to remain faithful to the book series and its spirit, like the first season.

Ahead of Season 3, which is already in development shortly after Season 2 wrapped earlier in the year, it was revealed that the show has already cast the fan-favourite roles of Nico and Bianca di Angelo, the two demigod siblings. The duo will be played by Levi Chrisopulos (Peter Pan the musical) and Olive Abercrombie (Mayfair Witches), respectively, with the season’s storyline based on the third Percy Jackson book, The Titan’s Curse.

Production on Season 3 will soon begin, but in the meantime, fans don’t have to wait much longer for Season 2 of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, as it premieres on 10 December 2025.
