Paramount Sets ‘Naked Gun’ Remake For 2025, ‘TMNT’ & ‘Paw Patrol’ Sequels For 2026

Paramount has officially set the wheels in motion for a reboot of the beloved Naked Gun franchise, with Liam Neeson leading the charge. The new Naked Gun film, scheduled for an 18 July 2025 release, draws inspiration from the classic films and Police Squad! TV show created by Jim Abrahams, David Zucker, and Jerry Zucker.

Director Akiva Schaffer, known for his work on Chip n’ Dale: Rescue Rangers is steering this project. With a script penned by Schaffer, Dan Gregor, and Doug Mand, the project promises a modern take on the slapstick comedy that captivated audiences in the late 20th century. Producers Seth MacFarlane and Erica Huggins of Fuzzy Door are on board, ensuring the reboot maintains the original’s comedic legacy while appealing to today’s viewers.

Paw Patrol 3

Paramount’s announcement didn’t stop with Naked Gun. As reported by Variety, the studio has big plans for its animated franchises, with Paw Patrol 3 launching on 31 July 2026, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 2 following on 9 October 2026. These sequels aim to build on the success of their predecessors, further expanding Paramount’s footprint in the animation and family entertainment sectors.

Among other notable projects is Better Man, a Robbie Williams biopic directed by Michael Gracey of The Greatest Showman fame. Set for a Christmas Day release in 2024, the film explores the life and career of the British pop star, promising a mix of music, drama, and spectacle.

Also in the pipeline is Novocaine, starring Jack Quaid and Amber Midthunder, set for a 14 March 2025 release. This action-packed narrative features a bank executive with a rare genetic condition that becomes his greatest asset during a heist.

Vicious, starring Dakota Fanning and directed by Bryan Bertino, rounds out the lineup with an 8 August 2025 release date. The film delves into a night of survival after a young woman receives a sinister gift.
